I proudly joined the staff at Saint Patrick School in 2002. My dream of being a teacher did not become a reality until I was in my forties. After working as a para-professional in the Walled Lake School District for twelve years, helping students who struggled with reading and math, my husband encouraged me to go back to school and become a teacher. I was forty-six and a grandmother when I finally finished my degree. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a Math Major and a Language Arts Minor from Oakland University.

After teaching Third Grade for nine years I moved to Middle School and now love teaching math to the Middle School students. I bring a lifetime of experiences to the classroom. I am passionate about teaching math and am energized every time a student has an “aha” moment.

I have been married to my wonderful husband for more than forty years. We raised three sons and enjoy every moment we spend with our six teenaged grandchildren. When I am not with students, I love to spend time with my family, read and travel. I have had some remarkable experiences and am always amazed by the splendor of the world God has given us.

The motto in my classroom is "You can’t just do math, you have to think math."

I am excited to be in my third year of teaching at St. Patrick and second year of marriage to my wife, Christina. I have two brothers, Drew and Justin, and a dog named Finn. My favorite thing to do is watch any sporting event, especially Michigan State football and basketball games. My favorite quote is the Spartan football team’s mantra, “Chase it.”

I believe that teaching is not a job, it is a passion. You have to be willing to learn new things about your subject on a daily basis and build upon the prior knowledge that you have. You have to have a passion and a willingness to help your students grow each and every day.
