Looking for something fun to do?
Join an After School Club.


Facilitated by Julie Williams. The Jr. Golf League will take place on Friday mornings at 8:00 a.m. The course will be Indian Springs and the players will play 9 holes walking. The league is open to 6th-8th grade boys and girls. The dates are:

June 13, 20, 27
July 11, 18, 25
August 1, 8
August 22 and 25 will be possible rain dates

PLAYER REQUIREMENTS: The players must have 1-2 years playing experience and know course etiquette.

COST: $100 with checks made payable to Indian Springs Metropark. This includes the cost of golf and a hotdog and fountain drink at the end of each 9 hole session. Parents who are unable to stay, please allow approximately 2 hours to play.

Facilitated by Scott and Karen McVean: The chess club meets in the winter and continues through spring. Students in 3rd and 4th grades are invited to participate. Chess club generally starts in January and runs through April. The Chess Club is an enjoyable after school activity that also teaches skills for life including: friendly competition, winning graciously, good sportsmanship, confidence and independent accomplishment, fair play, practice, cooperation, responsibility, thinking before action, accepting your consequences, and the value of working hard and practice.


Facilitated by Ann Gallant, Sam Gray, Faye Bashir, & Veronica Hindo: Cooking club starts in the winter and runs through spring. This year the grades involved were 1st through 4th grade. The students cook, bake, and create fun, healthy food creations they can share with mom and dad. Receipts are sent out for every class.


Facilitated by Jenna Wright: The running club meets in the spring and continues through the summer and fall. The students (all grades) train for a 5K run and are invited to participate as a group in local runs with Jenna (moms and dads are invited, too).



Facilitated by Heather Priddy and Erica Toton: The book club includes students in 1st through 3rd grades. The students read, discuss book themes, participate in a book related craft and enjoy a snack.
