St. Patrick School community believes in developing the value of self-respect for others in the area of dress and personal grooming. A student’s exterior dress sets an atmosphere and tone for the important task of education. The students are expected to adhere to the following dress code. Students shall follow the dress code on all school days. All items must be purchased from the school supplier, Pro-Stitch. An occasional “out of uniform” day will be announced through the office. Acceptable attire must be worn on “out of uniform” days.
PANTS Navy Pants for Grades 1-5 Khaki Pants for Grades 6-8
BELTS Navy, Black or Brown belts for Grades 1-8
JUMPERS/SKIRTS Plaid Jumpers for Grades 1-3 Plaid Skirts for Grades 4-5 Solid Khaki Skirts for Grades 6-8
Jumpers and skirts must be knee length. Uniform bike shorts or tights are to be worn under jumpers or skirts.
SHIRTS AND BLOUSES All shirts/blouses may be long or short sleeved and must be tucked in. Grades 1-5: Cotton polo or oxford style shirts/blouses in white or red. Girls in grades 1-4: Peter Pan collar blouses in white/cotton polo in white or red Grades 6-8: Cotton polo or oxford style shirts/blouses in white or hunter green.
SWEATERS/SWEATSHIRTS A hunter green cardigan, pullover, or vest style sweater may be worn. All students may wear a green St. Patrick sweatshirt with logo. Eighth grade students may purchase a screened senior jacket. All sweaters/sweatshirts must be purchased from Pro-Stitch.
SHOES AND SOCKS Shoes may be white, black, brown or navy. Shoes must be discreet; no light-up shoes, no multi-colored shoes, no jellies, no flip-flops, no open toe, no sling-backs. Tennis shoes may be worn any day. Socks/tights must be solid white, hunter green or navy. Socks must be above the ankles. White socks with St. Patrick logo in green may be worn. Girls in grades 6-8 may wear flesh tone nylons.
HAIR, JEWELRY, MAKE-UP Hairstyles must be neat, clean and appropriate for school as determined by the administration and staff. Jewelry must not be excessive. Small and simple earrings are acceptable and only one earring per ear. Make-up is not allowed. Girls may wear clear nail polish only. Boys are not allowed to wear earrings. Hair decorations are limited to the optional choices available in the uniform catalog.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION DAYS St. Patrick t-shirts (black or white, with logo), green warm-up pants and optional jacket are worn on gym days. Mesh shorts (green only, no logo) must be worn for P.E. An extra pair of tennis shoes must be kept in school and used only for P.E. class. Students in gr. 5-8 must change into a school uniform shirt after gym class.
SPORTS AND SCOUTS Cheerleading uniforms may be worn on the Friday before a home game. Standard scouting uniforms may be worn on meeting days. No casual scouting uniforms such as jogging sets, sweatshirts, etc. are considered acceptable.
ALL STUDENTS All clothes should fit properly and be in compliance with dress code regulations. If in doubt, do not wear! Administration and staff will determine compliance with all dress code regulations. If a violation occurs, a phone call will be made to parents to request proper clothes immediately. Further consequences of dress code violations will be determined by the staff.
CASUAL DAY DRESS CODE Shorts, torn clothes or inappropriate tee-shirts are not allowed. Girls may wear capris that are below the knees. Blouses/shirts must cover the shoulder. Shoes must be worn.
DRESS UP DAY DRESS CODE Dress pants and collared shirts for boys. Dresses and skirts of appropriate length or dress pants. Uniforms may always be worn on Dress Up Day.
